Murray in baseball today
[edit]Eddie Murray started the season as the hitting coach for the Cleveland Indians, although he was fired during the season, in June. [1]
uhhh... What?
[edit]Eddie's picture box just has a building in it. He may be one of the best switch-hitters in MLB history. But he's not a building. Someone should maybe fix that. --SteelersFan UK06 23:50, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

RBI's In 1993
[edit]He drove in 100 runs in 1993, not in 1992 according to Baseball Reference — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.237.34.211 (talk) 14:22, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
Please place up the career stats for Mr. Murray.
[edit]I believe this should be done possibly for all significant players, certainly for all Hall of Fame members. (...) I do not want to cast aspersions, but I remember watching Murray's career, and very late he had a noted increase in production, especially so the batting average. This is very unusual in any hitter, but more so the power type hitter's as Murray was. This occurred near the commencement of widespread steroid use by Baseball players, in the mid-90's. A similar example of an increase in average hitting, by a power hitter, but perhaps even more marked, was of course Barry Bonds. I therefore wonder whether Mr. Murray did in fact use, near the end of his career. But indeed, I guess we will never know the great number involved. (John G. Lewis (talk) 02:55, 12 January 2014 (UTC))
- If you go to the External links section and click on the blue link to Baseball-Reference.com, Murray's season-by-season stats will pop right up. He hit near or above .300 for his first ten seasons, then hit for less average for the rest of his career - except for averages above .320 in the 1990 and 1995 seasons. Thank you.... Perhaps my memory was not so accurate on this score. I'll check it out.... It was the 1995 average which surprised me, and it may have dipped as the season wore on. (John G. Lewis (talk) 14:08, 30 May 2014 (UTC))
In 1995 Eddie saw a lot of strikes as pitchers didn't want to walk him with a young Manny Ramirez batting next. But even with the higher average he still only hit 21 home runs. I see no evidence of steroids from looking at his career stats. 108.184.72.189 (talk) 07:13, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
