In what sense would one consider Klondike bars a "novelty"? They were introduced in the 1920's.

Removed Trivia template

Klondyke, a shadow of itself

The Klondike bar is now less than half the size it used to be. The chocolate covering is paper, thin and of poor quality. Even the ice cream is now icy and rather than creamy as it used to be.
