[edit]I am not shure, but I don't think the history of "Aborigines" reaches 6.500 back in time. That is why I took out the part about the "Aborigines" folcs memorry.
Can anyone verify the naming of Mt Eccles? Was it named after local family Eccles? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.235.82.170 (talk) 05:22, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Eccles is a misspelling of a name given by Major Thomas Mitchell after Peninsular War veteran Major Charles Eeles. Lane in Smyth 1878b: 187. See here. Rangasyd (talk) 10:52, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
Coordinate error
[edit]{{geodata-check}}
The following coordinate fixes are needed for Mount Eccles and Mount Eccles National Park
—49.176.6.19 (talk) 20:11, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
- The coordinates given in the article are roughly in the center of the park according to the boundaries shown here. Admittedly, the visitor facilites and the volcanic lake on the "mount" that gives the park its name are located more around 38°3′41″S 141°55′21″E / 38.06139°S 141.92250°E, but that's on the very edge of the park; and using those coordinates would, I think, give a false impression of the park's extent. I'll leave this request open in case somone else feels differently about the matter and wants to change the coordinates. Deor (talk) 12:04, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- I concur with Deor and am closing the request. — TransporterMan (TALK) 16:37, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
