Untitled

I removed the cleanup tag after wikifying and revising slightly. I thought it was a good article and didn't really deserve the cleanup tag unless it was just for wikification, so I tried to tread lightly, but whether or not I achieved that goal, I don't know. What I do know is that Wikipedia is from what I've seen so far is a pretty good example of teamwork. Spalding 23:31, Nov 23, 2004 (UTC)

• Wikipedia is a good example of teamwork. Wikipedia in order to have an effective team uses the three most common items needed to have a good team that is sucessful. • Should the "teamwork" article merge with "team building"? Teamwork seems to me more a self-organizing team dynamic while team building is more a directed, linear dynamic. I would say keep the articles separate.

The merge tag's been up there forever. Decide.

* No merge - you build a team and get the staff to be team players. Building a team is using strategies and plans to convince people to work and gel together - but team player is a culture that staff are encouraged to be a part of and engage in so that they work as a team.

Team player - a phrase or ethos that means you can get staff to do anything you want in return for a few very small concessions (like you or staff being able to leave 2 minutes before your shift in the office is finished because the computer clock is different from the phone clock and well...it's only 2 minutes right?).

Stop being a team player and...they point out that stuff, call the situation sad, say how upset and disappointed they are that you are not being a team player, not one of the group...

Whoever came up with team player needs to have their head examined.

It works in theory - but only in theory and only if all the people involved are of the same mind set or whatever.

Teamwork may not be applicable to every work environment but I know that without teamwork theatre productions, tv productions and all things similar just wouldn't come together as well as they can. Plays I've been in where all the members of the cast were really working together to create something, have been the most successful productions I've been involved in. But I appreciate that teamwork is not necessarily as integral in an office environment where it can create unhealthly competition.Teamwork is greate

The article still needs work.

• The opening section is a bit long,
• belbin team roles could probably all be left in the Belbin Team Inventory article, and
• the section on "examples of great teamwork" seems to switch away from examples half way through.

Wow, what the hell happened? Look at this article from back in November, or October (2008)... and so much has been removed. It doesn't seem to have been condensed, or linked elsewhere - just CUT by an anonymous guy at the turn of 2009. I don't see why and will rebuild unless someone wants to explain! Original Research?

This article has no citations, and is full of original research. Since this is an encyclopedia, any information included has to be verifiable and have a neutral point of view, so this article would need a total rewrite to agree with Wikipedia's policies. I don't see much of a point in having this article, though; it seems like this page should be turned into a disambiguation page like the one for responsibility, identity, or determination. Besides, articles already exist for team building and team, and teamwork is defined in Wiktionary. --Apollo1758 (talk) 02:45, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

RE: Original Research?

I restored the article to a previous version which did NOT read like an essay and, in my opinion, was much better, as it was to the point and contained all it needed to contain. This page should be combined with Team, but this is the best I can do to make it more encyclopedia-like. If you find this in error--anyone--do change it. TEAM WORK

Teamwork is a managers way of saying, "I have more work for you!". In my case, every time I hear that word, it means that I will be taking on New responsibilities with no additional pay. more general definition needed

Changes

Here are the changes I made for this article:

• Made the lead section more concise and clear
• Added a brief "History" section with background information on the emergence of teamwork
• Added the section "Effective Teamwork"
• Made the "Processes" section clearer
• Added the section "Basic Team Dynamics"
• Added information to the "Training to improve teamwork" section
• Edited the "Drawbacks and Benefits" section
• Cleaned up the Resources section
• Removed section "Types of Team" (thought this belonged to the "Team" wikipedia page)

Overall this page was unclear and had a lot of information that belonged to the "Team" wiki page. There were a lot of grammatical and spelling errors and the format was very confusing. My goal was to add some clarity and structure to the topic as well as make it more focused on general teamwork and not only on the healthcare aspect. Addition of a "Notable Examples of Teamwork" section?

Was wondering if this would be a useful edition. I was thinking particularly of the teamwork displayed by those in aviation, that of Formula One racing (pitstops), and that of the military. These 3 examples have been lauded by other industries for being efficient and good at minimising human error. Healthcare in particular has started changing its practice by adapting techniques from these examples. Thoughts? Jesnan (talk) 01:07, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
