Lately, I've been speculating, what if you could create a system of facts and opinions that would allow you to link an opinion to all the subsidiary opinions and facts that are your backup. You could do it yourself or a commentator could do it for predictive opinions that the commentator would like to monitor and/or use as building blocks in his own commentary. Such a system would increase the ability of people to absorb and integrate new ideas because you could take the 50,000 view or drill down into the nitty gritty details of an idea.
The project's moved forward since I wrote the paragraph above and acquired a name, Citizen Intelligence. I expect that it's going to be a hybrid structure with a neutral nonprofit to handle reputation, data rules, and other aspects that need to be trusted by all and a for profit arm for aspects of development like a marketplace for resources and workers.
