[edit]"supported the need to defend the secularism of the State, being then criticized by members of UDC and of his own party." That comment should have a working link or source, or it should be removed. This seems controversial and should be cited. Bergmanucsd (talk) 22:01, 23 August 2016 (UTC)Bergmanucsd
Underrepresented time as Speaker of the Chamber
[edit]Fini was Speaker of the Chamber from 2008 to 2013, but his actions after 2009 are underrepresented. ~~Bergmanucsd — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bergmanucsd (talk • contribs) 22:03, 23 August 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Actually I think that Mr Fini is still Deputy PM in addition of being Foreign Minister. This is what Italian newspapers said on the occasion of the appointment of Mr Follini as another Deputy PM. alessio 11:02, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I have reverted the edits of Ellipsis4677 becouse he/she has mostly tried to remove some controversial aspects of the Fini's biography like:
- Fini focusing on a campaign against illegal immigration
- the fact that he in 1992 and 1994 praised Italy's wartime dictator Benito Mussolini "the greatest statesman of the twentieth century" and declared “Fascism has a tradition of honesty, correctness and good government”.
- the fact that he was in Genoa during the 27th G-8 Summit and maintained close contact with the police and security forces. For at least some of this time, he was actually ensconced at police headquarters.
and so on.

Please cite sources for the above if you revert edits because of controversial points you claim are in factual evidence. Gashlicker 19:27, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Fini's page is starting to become a farce. It's unacceptable for users to add unsubstantiated or biased information which only aim to put the politician in a bad light. Wikipedia is supposed to be a source of information, not of political propaganda.
His presence at the G-8 summit in Genoa is an excellent example of an urban legend purported by elements of the Italian far left, which was never proven and has been used to show that Fini, "the fascist", cooperated with the police, which are seen as an instrument of power by the state. This only one example and if anyone wants to revert to versions that have been saved in the meantime, I suggest that they make the effort to start looking for links which back up what they are stating.
Sex with the wife of a friend ?
[edit]I read that Fini had in an earlier part of his Life sex with the wife of a friend: http://www.taz.de/pt/2007/03/05/a0140.1/text Should this part of the article ?
- I don't see why a rumor should be part of an encyclopedic entry? Your source is very leftwing anyway.Ellipsis4677 13:42, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
I have removed material from this article that does not comply with our policy on the biographies of living persons. Biographical material must always be referenced from reliable sources, especially negative material. Negative material that does not comply with that must be immediately removed. Note that the removal does not imply that the information is either true or false.
Please do not reinsert this material unless you can provide reliable citations, and can ensure it is written in a neutral tone. Please review the relevant policies before editing in this regard. Editors should note that failure to follow this policy may result in the removal of editing privileges.--Docg 18:55, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
New version
[edit]The article has been renewed with a translation from it:Gianfranco Fini--Dans (talk) 22:04, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Ian Spackman, can you give me a hint on how to cleanup the article? Thanks. Bests,--Dans (talk) 15:21, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- I am sorry but all I can say is try to enlist a native speaker of English to give it the once over. Things like ‘Personal evenements’ are not comprehensible English. I would happily have done it myself (rather than adding the tag) except that I find Fini a fairly distasteful character and would not have trusted myself to do it in an ‘NPOV’ manner. All the best, though, Ian Spackman (talk) 15:48, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry for my English, but I did my best. I'll try to improve it again. By the other side, I'd like if you help me just correcting grammar & lexicon.
- Please stop contributing in English. Your competence in English isn't adequate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.13.251.156 (talk) 18:37, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- I wanted to upload a new version of the article exactly to show to non-Italian speaker the political evolution of Fini, in order to let people not be surprised if he is elected premier or President of the Republic next time (a joke going around in this months says that Fini is the best fit for the contended place of secretary of the Democratic party..)--Dans (talk) 17:39, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kindness, mr. 78.*--Dans (talk) 17:02, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.
The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.
Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 19:54, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Trolling by administrators in Italian version of the topic
[edit]Sorry to bother you guys, but this is becoming a matter of principle. The Italian version of this topic is infested by trolls, and you know what, the trolls are the administrators that should check the behaviour of the other users. In particular the user "Vituzzu" but also others. Gianfranco Fini is a politician and as usual political topics are less authoritative than others. In the Italian version of the topic there is an apolegetic version of the facts. It is impossible to discuss politely with the administrators, they continuosly ban the I.P. address for months, after removing the contributions to the "talk" section so that it is impossible for others to understand why the changes to the article were made and why IMHO the behaviour of the administrators is completely against the wikipedia spirit. Please note that no offensive or insulting language was used, and the tone of my interventions was the same you can read here. The administrator "Vituzzu" is legendary all over Italy for his arbitrary and aggressive trolling against the other users, and for his conspiracy theories (ALL LINKED SOURCES ARE IN ITALIAN) The point is the following. There was a scandal about a house bought in Montecarlo by Giancarlo Tulliani, the brother of Fini's girlfriend, Elisabetta Tulliani. The house was bought for about 300.000 Euros from Fini's party, and re-sold after few years for 1.600.000 Euros. It is clear now that these are the facts, since Giancarlo Tulliani (now fugitive in Dubai where there is no extradiction) was put under investigation and clear documental evidence of this was found by the magistrates of this and other fiscal evasion, money laundering and fraud crimes. They also issued a warrant of arrest against Tulliani. All these facts were widely covered by the Italian media, both mainstream and not, as can be documented by links to all the major Italian newspapers of any political view. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6][7]
All this information has been constantly erased from the Italian page, and bans of several months have been applied to those who report the truth. Moreover, in order to give a fake and apolegetic information in favor of Fini, the Italian article reports Lavitola as the possible author of fake accusations and fake documents provided to the court as evidence. This is clearly slander, since the documents have been proved to be authentic by the magistrates and it is clear from other sources of evidence that Tulliani and his sister Elisabetta were the real owners of the house in Montecarl I kindly ask you to help me defend the right for reporting the truth on the Italian wikipedia, and also to ask for an adequate punishment for the behaviour of trolls like Vituzzu that is clearly inappropriate and against the wikipedia spirit. Thank you for a possible answer — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.228.129.211 (talk) 15:21, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
