Move more of the National Park stuff to National Park page?
[edit]Article seems to be getting on the long side, I'd put the National park stuff back on the other page. Actually, I had intended to put some of the more National Park History stuff after 1932 on the other page, but just hadn't bothered doing so. Bonnachoven (talk) 20:10, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
NPS site maintenance
[edit]Looks like NPS is moving their historical documents around on their server. This makes for some broken links, even on the NPS site. We'll see when everything calms down, and maybe fix any broken links. Also some of the brochures for the canal have been updated on the choh pages. Ll1324 (talk) 21:59, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
C&O Canal Category
[edit]It would be useful to have a Category for the C&O Canal (or for C&O Canal NHP). In addition to the main articles on the canal and the park, there are now several articles about components and related features:
- Aqueduct Bridge (Potomac River)
- Aqueducts on the C&O Canal
- Canal Place
- Locks on the C&O Canal
- Monocacy Aqueduct
- Paw Paw Tunnel
- Seneca Aqueduct
- Tidewater Lock.
If there is no objection, I will create the category. Moreau1 (talk) 16:47, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
- Go for it! Ll1324 (talk) 16:52, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
- Done. Some of the categories formerly associated with this article are more appropriate for the C&O NHP article, so they will be added there. Moreau1 (talk) 23:00, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
Insurrection Act
[edit]According to the table on Insurrection Act of 1807, President Jackson invoked the Act at Maryland's request to deal with a labor dispute with canal workers in Williamsport. Sound like there's a bigger story here; can anyone find out what happened? -- Beland (talk) 22:16, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
POV?
[edit]A POV-inline tag was recently added and subsequently reverted. I fail to understand what POV is being pushed. Is there a reliable source that says the width was inappropriate? Toddst1 (talk) 23:06, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
